40 Days – Day 33: Lets go Gracy!

Andrew Yeo leads Festival of Praise

Last night I went to attend Festival of Praise celebrating it’s 25th year. What a great landmark! Although I’ve attended it for the last few years on and off, this year was definitely something special. It could’ve been for a number of reasons but I’d put it down to this: 1) it was packed to the rafters, 2) everyone came ready to worship God, 3) having my brother Andrew Yeo lead us in worship as a local leader. Either way, there was something that was very special about the presence of Christ.

______________

I was also really blessed by John Bevere’s teaching last night on the topic of GRACE. I know it challenged may people with regards to their own perceptions of grace as he took it beyond the saving gift or redemption that is unmerited or undeserved, into the realm of empowerment. Although salvation by grace is always going to be the centre and the main thing that Christianity revolves around, it doesn’t stop there. We can observe how grace operated past the realm of salvation towards empowerment through the perfectly grace-empowered life of Christ:

1) Jesus walked in purity and godliness

2 Corinthians 7:1 “With promises like this to pull us on, dear friends, let’s make a clean break with everything that defiles or distracts us, both within and without. Let’s make our entire lives fit and holy temples for the worship of God. More Passionate, More Responsible”  (Hebrews 12:28 also)

2) Jesus met the needs of humanity

Acts 4:33 “And with great power the apostles gave witness to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus. And great grace was upon them all.”

Acts 6:8 (Stephen, a man full of God’s grace)

3) Jesus walked in all things extraordinary.

Luke 2:40 “And the Child grew and became strong in spirit, filled with wisdom; and the grace of God was upon Him.” (Also – Romans 5:17)

Be encouraged to live a life FULL of the grace of God!
