Come Weary Saints – Sovereign Grace Music (album review)

Come Weary Saints - Sovereign Grace Music

Genre: Worship

Come Weary Saints is a collection of songs by Sovereign Grace Music that are aimed at redirecting focus for the listener to the love that can only be found at the cross of Jesus Christ. Aimed at the weary, it hopes to help restore strength and renew hope for the listener.

Now I’ll be honest, I thought it was going to come off like worship spa music. The album starts off with “Hide Away in the Love of Jesus” – nice and soothing with great reminders of how much God loves us, with other songs like this being “Oh the Deep Deep love of Jesus”, “So I will Trust You” and “Every Day”. But I must say I was surprised to hear the energy and sheer volume on songs like “You have Always Been Faithful” and “Healing in Your Wings” when I was expecting to lulled into the strengthening arms of God. Thematically and Lyrically this album is a winner, and for worship leaders with weary congregants, I think you’ll find some gems here.
